Join our mission towards a safe digital future
Apply for this jobDo you want to be at the forefront of protecting our society against cyber threats? We are looking for a Legal Counsel to team up with the most dedicated team of cyber specialists in our Legal domain.
About Truesec – A Leading Cybersecurity Company
Since 2005, Truesec has been a native cybersecurity company, driven by one single purpose: Creating safety and sustainability in a digital world by preventing cyber breach and minimizing impact.
Over the years, we’ve earned the trust of organizations worldwide and gained a strong reputation internationally. Our team consists of dedicated specialists covering the entire spectrum of cybersecurity – with capabilities in Predict, Prevent, Protect, Respond, and Recover.
Today, we employ around 300 employees – and as cybercrime grows, we need to grow. To support that goal, we are now looking for a Legal Counsel who wants to make a difference in our Legal Team.
Legal & Cyberlaw
Truesec is an expert cybersecurity organization and since 2021, we have expanded our business to include a legal function. Our legal team manages our company’s internal legal matters and also provides advisory services to our customers during assignments that cross country borders, continents, and time zones.
The Role
Truesec is number one in cybersecurity in Sweden – and we want to claim that spot in cyber law, too.
As a member of Truesec Cyber Law, you will work with a wide variety of tasks – from supporting a premiere technical organization on its mission to create a safer digital future to supporting customers with cyber, cybersecurity, and privacy law. As a member of Truesec Cyber Law, you will be acting both as in-house counsel and legal consultant, thus redefining both the traditional in-house counsel role and shape how legal services can and should be provided. As a member of Truesec Cyber Law, you will work in cross-competence teams together with some of the most experienced and talented lawyers, cybersecurity and information security experts, and incident responders.
You will be based in the Stockholm office together with the rest of the Cyber Law team.
Some examples of tasks and roles you will come across as a Cyber Law member are:
• Group Strategic Partner: We engage with and advise the group Leadership Team on matters regarding, e.g., corporate law, legal risks, and legal/compliance/privacy strategy.
• Traditional In-House Counsel: We support the group and its business areas with developing legal, compliance, privacy, and governance frameworks; managing legal risks and issues associated with a rapidly growing and internationalizing tech company; negotiating complex commercial agreements; etc. In the more traditional in-house role, you create the legal framework for an innovative and dynamic organization as well as translate legalese for both businesspeople in management and technical experts working on the field, and the other way around.
• Cyber Law: We advise customers on cyber law, including preparing for personal data breaches, managing risks related to cyber law, and managing and responding to personal data and other legal breaches, including notifying authorities and coordinating global legal teams, advising on crisis communication, acting as crisis manager, negotiating with our customers’ customers to reduce legal and contractual risk during an incident, etc. Together with Truesec’s market-leading Cybersecurity Incident Response Team (CSIRT), or as a standalone service, we provide customers with a unique one-stop-shop for proactive and reactive legal incident response services.
An Example of Your Background
This is a great opportunity for you if you want to be a part of a successful business and participate in defining the cyber law area. If you are self-acting and feel comfortable in most situations, you have a great chance of finding a space for stimulus and growth in a hard-working and fun team. We believe your background includes some parts of the following:
• University degree, Swedish LL.M. preferred (European law degree will be considered).
• Experience in business law, either from a law firm or in an in-house role.
• Experience in data privacy, commercial contract negotiations, dispute resolution, insurance claims adjustment/litigation, M&A, or similar.
• Regardless of formal background, you should have a strong will to support both internal and external customers, an entrepreneurial drive to create innovative legal services, and an interest in technology and cyber – you should have a strong will to take part in creating something new and unique within the legal and privacy space.
• A strong ambition and desire to be part of a purpose bigger than yourself.
Due to the sensitivity in our assignments, we require Swedish citizenship, citizenship in an EU country, or a Swedish work permit.
Join Our Mission Toward a Safe Digital Future
